Happy Father’s Day
In honor of father’s day, today’s post is a photo my dad took on his D90 last Saturday.

This sequence of photos I captured at my parents’ house shortly after returning from Japan. Somehow their garden and pond seem to have a better collection of insects than the whole of Central Park. All photos were taken with my Nikon D200, Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/4 AIS and PN-11 Extension Tube between f/4 and f/8 with natural light somewhere between 1:2 and 1:1 reproduction.

I’ve decided to go with larger image thumbnails as in my last post from now on. I liked the large amounts of white space I had with the older small thumbnails, but since photography is a focus of this site, having such tiny, hard to see images just didn’t make much sense.
Just went out in gold lamé hammer pants with coworkers to spread the word of MC Hammer (Hammertime — Sundays at 10PM/9C on A&E), and met the man himself. There was dancing in Grand Central and Times Square.
Pictures and video will follow, though not pictures taken by me, photos from a Canon 5Dmk2. Sorry Nikon.
Update: Here’s some pictures from coworkers’ P&S’s

Another masterwork by Pixar, the only major group that can compare to Miyazaki and Ghibli.
If you’re catching this movie in 3D, take off the glasses for a second when there’s something flat on the screen and look at how much richer the color is. I have to find it in 2D before it’s out of theatres.
